FOR SHORTBREAD CRUST

  • 1 cup salted butter; softened
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup confectioner’s sugar
  • ¼ tsp. baking powder
  • ¼ cup roughly chopped pecans

BROWNIE MIX & TOPPINGS

  • 1 box of your favorite brownie mix and ingredients needed according to directions
  • 1 lb. Fannie May Pixies
  • ¼ cup roughly chopped pecans

Directions

FOR SHORTBREAD CRUST

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a large bowl; cream butter and confectioner’s sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Stir together flour and baking powder and add in 1/4 cup chopped pecans; blend into butter mixture.
  • Press shortbread mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x13 glass pan. Prick evenly with a fork.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes; or until edges are lightly browned.

FOR BROWNIE LAYER

  • While crust is baking; prepare your favorite pre-made brownie mix according to instructions. Set aside.
  • Once crust comes out of the oven; pour brownie batter on top of shortbread crust. Spread evenly and put in oven for an additional 15-20 minutes; or until brownies are completely baked.

FOR TOPPING LAYER

  • Immediately upon taking brownies out of the oven; open 1 lb. of Fannie May Pixies and place on top of hot brownies in even rows.
  • Place brownies back into the oven for 3-5 minutes; until Pixies look spreadable.
  • Remove from oven. Using a spatula; blend melted Pixies into top layer.
  • Top with roughly chopped pecans. Wait for brownies to fully cool before cutting.
